Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment

Unwanted and discarded devices contribute to the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) category and are part of the fastest growing type of waste in the UK today.
At Scraptek, we currently operate within the Greater London Region.
We will Reuse, Refurbish and Recycle any IT equipment and hardware collected. Unwanted equipment which are refurbished will also be used to support communities who need access to devices and hardware. Our specialists will wipe 100% of the data on devices sent in to avoid any form of data breaches. We also ensure any equipment which cannot be refurbished are recycled meaning there will be no waste sent to landfill.

About Scraptek

Scraptek collect redundant or end of life IT and electrical equipment from companies of all sizes, then refurbish the equipment and redeploy the equipment if possible. Any equipment we are unable to refurbish is broken down and ethically recycled. We don’t allow anything to go to landfill, and don’t export any waste.

We destroy all data passed to us safely and securely (find out more here).

Any erasable functioning media is wiped using a multipass binary overwipe. Any non-functioning or non-erasable media is physically destroyed. Whichever method is used, the data is completely and irretrievably eradicated.

The destruction process meets or exceeds many internationally recognised standards. A data destruction certificate is provided at the end of the process.

Devices will go through a data destruction process.

Items will be separated into items that can be reused and put back into use. Items which are faulty or obsolete will be physically destroyed and then broken down for zero waste to landfill materials recycling.
